Stu enjoys leveraging technology to bring clarity, scalability & efficiency to finance and operations functions. He has deep experience across a wide range of accounting, financial and operational systems and helps organizations select & implement tools that fit their stage of growth.

He has worked extensively with platforms including QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, Blackbaud’s Financial Edge & Raiser's Edge, and has supported multiple systems implementations and transitions, helping organizations replace outdated IT with modern, scalable solutions. 

Stu’s approach focuses on improving visibility, strengthening controls and preparing teams and systems to support sustainable growth.

Work Experience

Stu is a finance & operations leader with more than 20 years of experience supporting growth-stage and mission-driven organizations. He has served in executive roles, including CFO, COO and VP of Finance & Operations.

Currently, Stu serves as Chief Financial Officer at Utilisouth and Launch Fiber Services where he helped drive significant revenue growth through improved financial infrastructure, strategic hiring and scalable systems. His work includes securing investor funds, launching new products and services, implementing job-costing and accounting systems and building distributed finance teams to support rapid growth.

Previously, Stu held senior leadership roles at The Chalmers Center, overseeing finance, operations and innovation initiatives. He partnered closely with the Board of Directors, led audits & compliance efforts and launched new in-person and digital products. 

Away From Work

Outside of work, Stu enjoys traveling & experiencing new cultures and foods. He is actively involved in his community as a volunteer with The Mission Chattanooga and as a mentor to various local startups.

Stu also enjoys outdoor activities, including hiking & camping with his wife, two boys and golden retriever, Tucket. He has summited both Mount Kenya and Mount Kilimanjaro.
